Hippopotamus carved pinkish white stone Hippo decorative figurine trinket box

Description

This is for a Hippopotamus decorative trinket box of carved pinkish white stone.  There are no markings or labels to indicate where it was made, or when it was made, or of what stone it is made of.  There appears to be a small 'E' scratched on the bottom,  It weighs slightly over 2 pounds.
The box is approximately 5.5 inches long by 3.25 inches wide and approximately 2.5 inches tall.
The interior cavity is approximately 4.5 inches long by 2.25 inches wide.
It would be a nice decorative touch on a shelf or side table or desk!
